Sir, Re the results of cases at local magistrates’ courts. In most of the cases, there would not appear to be a victim, so why is there a ‘victim’s’ surcharge’, invariably £15? Yet where there were victims, ie assault victims and stores robbed, there were no victims’ surcharges. Just interested.
