Sir, In the press recently a warning was given about the closure of the A338 from Mably Way to Limborough Road until mid-December.
This is at least the third time this section of road has been closed this autumn.
One wonders if the authority responsible (the Highways Authority?) cannot get its act together to co-ordinate work being done on the road.
My son, who worked in Switzerland until recently, quotes an example of how this was done in Berne when a main street had to be closed. The different authorities worked months in advance, consulting amongst themselves and with the different people involved, getting the equipment in position and, then, when the work was started getting the whole thing done in three weeks.
Can we afford a plane fare to send someone to Switzerland to find out how to do it?
