Sir, How I totally agree with Mr Dockar-Drysdale (Postal chaos, letters, Herald, October 13). I live on the road to Wootton village.
Our postman has also changed and the time of delivery gone from 10am to after 1pm.
Our old postman still delivers into the Old Pound and then returns to Abingdon. According to our new postman, he has to come from Shippon village to deliver just the houses on Lamborough Hill.
Why on earth can our previous postman not come up the hill and save on petrol? This all changed the same week we had to start using the unsightly green and grey bins. What next, I wonder?
I was born in Abingdon which was always a pretty little market town — how have the authorities let Didcot and Witney romp head in popularity and leave Abingdon in the doldrums?
