A maximum from Matthew Davies helped Drayton A to a narrow 6-4 victory over Upton B in Didcot & District League Division 1.

Upton went close to snatching their first win of the season as they led 3-2 at one stage, but couldn’t hang on.

Leaders Marlborough C won 6-4 against Marlborough B, who were boosted by having three players for the first time.

Second-placed RAL A were without the talismanic Karl Bushell as they surprisingly went down 7-3 to Marlborough B, although they still have a game in hand on the league leaders.

A depleted Upton A went down 10-0 Moreton A, naming only two players.

The Division 2 title race was blown open as leaders Marlborough E were thrashed 9-1 by second-placed Abingdon A, for whom both Stuart Pringle and Owen Brazell picked up super maximums.

The gap between the two sides now stands at just one point.

A maximum from Jeffery Cornmell helped bottom club Marlborough D earn a 5-5 draw with RAL C.

Trebles from Jeff Lin and Chris Noys helped Sutton A to a 6-4 victory over Drayton B.

In Division 3, leaders Wallingford A returned to form with a 7-3 win over Abingdon B, helped by maximums from Chris Hasker and Jason Turner.
