Abingdon United manager Andy Slater says he is delighted that former Oxford United goalkeeper Alan Judge (pictured) is taking over from Mickey Lewis as first team coach.

Lewis left the Northcourt Road-based Southern League outfit at the end of the season to take up the position of youth team coach at Oxford United.

Slater was quick to search for a replacement, and he believes Judge's appointment is the perfect choice.

He said: "Mickey was always going to be an impossible act to replace, but Judgey is as close as you're going to get.

"He's got all the experience in the world, and knows the local scene inside out.

"He has very similar qualities to Mickey, and will command a lot of respect from the players.

"It's a fantastic acquision for me and for the club."

Abingdon United striker Anaclet Odhiambo won the players' player and the golden boot award at the club's annual presentation night.

Michaes Herbert was voted player of the season, while the chairman's player went to Julian McCalmon.
