DARIUS Skop produced a dominating performance to record an emphatic win over teak tough rival Jody Meikle in the Queensbury League at Effingham.

The 30-year-old from Didcot, had exchanged verbal shots with his opponent across social media in the build-up to the clash.

But as the contest unfolded it was clear the Pole, who trains out the South Moreton BC, had the skills to back up his words.

From the opening bell of the six-round contest, Skop looked like a man possessed, hunting down Meikle and firing off crisp combinations that found their mark.

Meikle, a 70-fight veteran, had to endure a barrage of punches from all angles.

As the contest went on, the Scunthorpe fighter offered little resistance.

Skop punched his way to an overwhelming victory, winning every round.

Afterwards he said: “The only things I’m not happy with that I damaged my thumb and I didn’t stop him.

“Meikle showed he can take a strong shot, but I dominated.”

“I now plan to take a short break then train hard for the next fight.”
