WANTAGE Town are running out of time to preserve their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West place, according to manager Ben Sadler.

The Alfredians were left 11 points adrift of safety after going down 4-1 at home to Larkhall Athletic on Saturday and Sadler admitted that he was getting impatient for his first win in charge of the club.

He said: “That was one of seven or eight games which we felt we had to get at least one point from, if not three.

“I still feel that when we get one win others will follow soon after, but we’ve got to get that first win sooner rather than later, because time is running out.”

Wantage took the lead against Larkhall when Sam Mason fired home on 28 minutes.

But the visitors were level a minute later, thanks to Stuart Tovey.

Ben Brooks made it 2-1 after the break, before Wantage’s Callum Preece was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Josh Egan and Joe Tumelty fired home to make sure of victory for the visitors.

Debutant Riccardo Andrady scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Didcot Town a 2-2 draw at Bideford in the Evo-Stik Southern League.

The Railwaymen made a bad start to the Division 1 South & West clash, conceding in only the second minute. Goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell could only punch Sean Downing’s cross straight to Dan Western, who made no mistake in tapping home.

Didcot’s Louis Joyce scored immediately after half-time, but the hosts retook the lead ten minutes later, when Western chipped Bedwell.

Didcot pushed for an equaliser and Andrady, on loan from Woking, netted in the 95th minute.
