EDDIE Pepperell will attempt to extend his stellar September on the European Tour when the British Masters starts today.
The 26-year-old from Abingdon has rocketed up the rankings with a career-best three successive top-five finishes this month.
It means his card for 2018 is safe without the need to return to Qualifying School, which was required last year.
Pepperell has now set his sights on finishing the year in the top-60, which will secure a place in the glittering season-ending World Tour Championship in Dubai.
He heads into this week 54th in the charts and one more high finish should complete the job, although he is up against a strong field which includes Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood.
The tournament at Close House, near Newcastle, will be the Frilford Heath golfer’s first Tour event on home soil this year.
He begins his challenge at 8.50am alongside fellow Englishman James Morrison and Paul Peterson, from the United States.
