ALEX Miell-Ingram secured his fourth successive Mota-vation Series victory to clinch the men’ series champions with a race to spare.

The Radley AC athlete has been in impressive form this year and continued in the same vein in hot conditions at Combe.

Miell-Ingram sat on the shoulder of former Oxford City runner Matthieu Marshall as the leaders approach the half-way mark, before racing away to claim to victory by 30 seconds.

His time of 22.22 was only 18 seconds short of the course record.

Abingdon AC look to have opened up an unassailable lead in the men’s team competition.

Their latest points haul was helped by Jack Shayler, Owen Stepney and Harrison Reid finishing fifth, sixth and tenth respectively.

Abingdon hold a 325-point lead heading into the final race, as the club bid to win the title for the first time since 2010.

The series finale takes place at Marston Ferry Road, Oxford, on August 30. New entries will be available on the night.

ABINGDON’S Olivia Martin won gold in the U13-U20 3k County Championships.

The Under 15 athlete beat Radley’s Under 17 runner Rachel Burton by more than five seconds.

Under 20 David Bunn, of Abingdon, was third in the boys’ race.

KATHRYN Woodcock came fourth in the discus at the England Senior Track & Field Championships in Manchester.

The Radley athlete produced an effort of 50.07 – 1.94m off a medal.

Abingdon’s Ben Claridge progressed to the semi-finals of the 200m, but finished seventh in his heat in a time of 21.39secs.
