EDDIE Pepperell has been paired with former world No 1 Luke Donald for the opening two rounds at the British Masters.

The Abingdon golfer is now the higher ranked of the pair, sitting 50th in the world compared to Donald’s 430th.

They begin their campaign at 12.35pm, along with fellow Englishman Sam Horsfield.

This year the event is hosted by Walton Heath, where Pepperell has a good track record.

The 27-year-old, who has made the cut at his last eight tournaments, has twice come through qualifying at the Surrey course to reach the US Open, in 2013 and 2017.
