OXFORDSHIRE were well beaten by Division 1 leaders Cambridgeshire in the BDO Inter-Counties Championship.

Only the Ladies’ A team avoided defeat, drawing 3-3, in a heavy 26-10 home loss in Bicester.

The tone was set from the beginning, where the visitors won the first four contests of the Ladies’ B fixture.

Katrina Blackman and lady of the match Gina Freshwater hit back, but Oxfordshire’s optimism was swept away immediately.

Adam Bowman was the only winner for the Men’s B team, who were thrashed 11-1 to leave Oxfordshire 15-3 adrift by the end of the first day.

Deta Hedman’s 170 checkout helped her to a 3-0 success, while Sandra Cox and Karen Williams were also on target for the Ladies’ A team.

Cambridgeshire made sure of the victory by winning the first two matches in the Men’s A meeting.

Oxon’s side were able to mount more resistance than their B-string, but still ended up with a defeat.

Geordie Grant, man of the match Sean Holley, Jon Jukes and Kevin Lowe were their winners.

This Sunday, the county’s youth team are in action.

Any players aged under 21 who are interested in playing are encouraged to attend the Bicester Ex-Serviceman’s Club at 10.30am.
