VALE TKD are celebrating a year to remember.
The Wantage taekwon-do club finished second in the overall national school standings in 2018.
Performances at the English, Welsh, Scottish and British Championships count towards the positions, with Vale finishing with 185 points behind SWAT, from Wales.
Instructor Carl Davis was delighted with the performances across the last 12 months.
He said: “Finishing second is a great achievement from the vast amount of schools which enter all the national championships.
“It would have been amazing to have finished first, however I can take solace in being the highest ranked English school in 2018.
“Finishing the overall school from the first Taekwondo Team Championships held in over 25 years was also a massive achievement for Vale TKD to make 2018 a great year.
“I am proud of all members, with some excellent students who look to take their skills onto the international stage.”
Seven Vale members are set to compete at the European Championships in Italy this year, with Davis bidding to defend his title.
