EDDIE Pepperell kicks off his 2019 campaign today at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
The Abingdon golfer has not played competitively since a back injury forced him to withdraw from the
season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai two months ago.
It means he has not completed a tournament since claiming the British Masters title in October, one of two events he won last year.
Despite the break, Pepperell, who flew out to the UAE last week, is ranked 35th in the world.
He tees off this morning (7.55 GMT) alongside two of last year’s successful European Ryder Cup team – compatriot Ian Poulter and Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen.
