SAXTON Rovers moved ten points clear at the top of Division 1 as they saw off second-placed Long Wittenham 3-1, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

Tom Stanley, Frank Haines and Patrick Mannix netted for Rovers in the North Berks League clash, with Joe Murphy replying.

In Division 2, Compton won 7-2 over Stanford in the Vale.

Jake Rostron and Ben Brzoska both scored twice, with further goals coming from Alex Cairns, Jack Baker and Alession Moise.

Adam Finney and Darryl Boulter hit back for the visitors.

Dorchester closed the gap on the Division 3 leaders when they beat Ardington Res 2-0, with goals from George Kay and George Marriott.

Steventon Res had keeper Ashley Armitage sent off inside ten minutes, and they went on to lose 3-0 at home to North Oxford Res in Division 4, Jack Hinkin (2) and Ade Yusuff on target.

Berinsfield edged into the semi-finals of the North Berks Charity Shield with a 2-1 win over Sutton Courtenay.

Wayne Bell and Brian Rawlings scored their goals, with Stefan Thomas replying.

Blewbury defeated Lambourn Sports 3-2 thanks to strikes from Charles Jamieson, Jack Kitchener and Bryn Ingram. Rob Curtis and Steve Leighfield replied.

Steventon reached the last four with a 3-1 win over Cholsey United.

Scott McKenzie, Ben Trottman and Alan Harvey scored their goals, with Kane Galliford replying.

A five-timer from Paul Churchouse helped Saxton Rovers Res to a 6-0 win over Long Wittenham Res in the quarter-final of the Nairne Paul Cup, George Goodenough also on target.

Letcombe crashed out with a 1-0 defeat at home to Lambourn Res, Seb Buck scoring the only goal.
