EDDIE Pepperell endured a disappointing second round to miss the cut at the Saudi International.

The Abingdon golfer carded a five-over-par 75 at the Royal Greens G&CC earlier today.

His round included five bogeys and a double bogey as he failed to make the cut at a European Tour event for the first time since July last year.

A one-over-par 71 in the opening round left Pepperell with work to do.

The 28-year-old needed a strong start if he was to mount a charge up the leaderboard, but dropped a shot at the par-four third.

Despite birdieing the fifth, bogeys at the seventh and ninth followed as the World No 39 completed the front nine in a two-over-par 37.

With level par the projected cut, Pepperell was struggling on three over for the tournament.

And the Frilford Heath member’s round was further compounded by a double bogey at the 13th.

Pepperell then birdied the 15th, but dropped shots at the 17th and 18th saw him finish six adrift of the cut.
