OXFORD United's under 23 side finished their inaugural Premier League Cup campaign with a 2-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Niall Ennis opened the scoring from close range in the 15th minute at Molineux.
Owen James threatened from free-kicks either side of half-time as Chris Allen's visitors looked for an equaliser.
United remained in the game until five minutes from time, when Paulo Alves doubled the lead from 20 yards.
Substitute Ryan Crooks was denied a consolation goal in stoppage-time when his shot was blocked on the line by Ed Francis.
The result ended United's hopes of progressing, as they finish third in the group.
There is one game remaining, between Wolves and Swansea City, who will both progress to the knockout stages after the Welsh club's 2-2 draw with Hull City tonight.
