JACK Biggs hit a treble to get Oxford Hawks back in the groove with a 6-2 win at Chichester.

Matt Wood (2) and Andy Watts were also on target to deliver the perfect response to two defeats the previous weekend.

The victory took Hawks up to third in the Men’s Conference West, five points behind leaders Havant, who were held to a draw.

Oxford OBU missed out on a big chance to close the gap at the top of MBBO Regional Division 1 as they lost 4-3 at home to strugglers Amersham & Chalfont.

Zum Akhter scored a brace, along with a goal from Henry Vallis, but the depleted side lost out.

They stay second, four points behind Maidenhead, who went down to a Finn Dunleavy strike for Oxford Hawks 2nd in fourth place.

Mid-table Witney won 3-2 against visitors Sonning.

After a goalless first half, Andy Gosnell broke the deadlock with a slick short corner routine.

Sonning hit back to lead, but the home side took the points with a surge in the latter stages where Ryan Fitz-John and Dan Robinson scored.

The result meant Witney cannot be caught by Sonning, who occupy the second automatic relegation spot.

Tim Chamberlain and Tom Ferris were on target, but bottom side Wallingford suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Marlow.

Oxford Hawks’ miserable Investec Women’s League Conference West season continued with a 6-1 loss at Olton.

Catherine Reaney struck a late consolation for the winless side.

Witney also had little to cheer as they lost out 3-0 at Spencer in South Clubs’ Women’s League Division 1.

Oxford claimed only their fourth Division 2 victory of the season with a 3-2 success at basement side Woking.

Kate Pugh converted from a short corner routine in the only goal of the first half.

The hosts responded to lead after the break, but Laura Pickervance and Amelia Baron’s goals were decisive.

Philippa Morris scored the only goal as Wallingford beat Amersham & Chalfont 2nd 1-0 in Trysports Three Counties League Premier 1.
