KARL Robinson is planning on shuffling his pack as in-form Oxford United look to complete a happy Easter when they visit Shrewsbury Town.

The U’s could secure a top-half finish in Sky Bet League One if results go their way today, following on from the 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic on Good Friday.

But it will be a different squad to the one which faced the Addicks, with a couple of senior players due to be left behind altogether to free up room for younger players.

Defender Nico Jones and forward Fabio Lopes are the most likely to travel, while there will also be chances for those on the fringes in recent weeks.

Robinson said: “Some players will get an opportunity to play and they’ve got a point to prove.

“We will make changes, for fresh legs and energy.

“We’ve got some really good players we can put in. Gavin Whyte will be fit for the game, Jamie Mackie didn’t start on Friday, Jordan Graham will probably start.

“There’s Samir Carruthers and Jamie Hanson as well.”

Today’s game had already been earmarked to bring goalkeeper Jack Stevens into the side, but he was handed his debut on Friday when Simon Eastwood was sent off.

The resulting suspension means Stevens will keep his place after an impressive debut.

At the other end of the pitch will be Jonathan Mitchell, who was brought in as loan cover when Eastwood was injured at the start of the season.

Many felt it was a missed opportunity to give Stevens experience, but the 21-year-old is just looking to make the most of this chance.

He said: “It’s football. Maybe I wasn’t ready then, I don’t know.

“Maybe the timing is perfect now. You can’t let stuff like that get you down, you’ve just got to keep working hard.

“Mitch was great down here, I learned a lot from him.”

Shrewsbury, managed by former U’s academy product Sam Ricketts, still need one more positive result to banish their lingering relegation concerns.

Experienced midfielder Dave Edwards (ankle) and striker Lenell John-Lewis (knee) are out for season, but defender James Bolton is likely to return after being rested for Friday’s 2-1 defeat at Barnsley.
