NICO Jones keeps his place in the Oxford United starting line-up as they visit Luton Town on the final day of the Sky Bet League One season.

Rob Dickie was due to return at centre half, but an illness has ruled him out so the 17-year-old will continue for his third senior appearance.

U’s boss Karl Robinson said: “People might say on a day like today you could bring in John Mousinho.

“But if we’re talking about moving Oxford United forward, I’ve played Nico against one of the best strikers in the league last week in John Marquis and today he’ll be up against the most potent this season in Collins.

“We’re learning a lot about the young man at 17 years of age.

“We need to see him in these big games, because if you don’t then you tend to find you fall short.

“Not a lot of teams would play a 17-year-old here today.”

Robinson has made two changes to the starting line-up from last week’s 2-2 draw at Doncaster Rovers.

Jamie Mackie replaces Jerome Sinclair, while Luke Garbutt comes in for Gavin Whyte (tight hamstring).

Robinson said: “It a perfect game for Jamie Mackie.

“When we told him he was playing the look on his face was quite unique. He’s excited by the opportunity.”
