KARL Robinson is hoping playing for Oxford United’s Under 23 side can bring the best out of Yoav Sade.

The 19-year-old full back, who grew up in Israel and played for Southend United as a schoolboy before returning to his native country, joined the U’s yesterday.

And boss Robinson likes what he has seen.

“He played for Israel Under 18s,” he said.

“He’s been doing bits and bobs over there, but there’s been an opportunity for us to bring him in.

“He’s full of energy, he’s a talented kid, and he’s very young.”

Sade was delighted to get the chance to impress with the U’s.

“It’s a dream come true,” he said.

“I have wanted to be a footballer since I was five or six so I am determined to make the most of my chance here.

“The players have been very welcoming this week.

“It has been very hard work but really enjoyable.

“The next step will be to go with the under 23 squad to Scotland for a training camp and then it is up to me to keep working, keep pressing and hopefully get a chance in the first team.”
