OXFORD United are still on the hunt to add pace and goals to their squad this month.

The arrival of Elliott Moore, Anthony Forde and Ben Woodburn in the space of 48 hours has plugged some of the areas in need of strengthening.

But boss Karl Robinson knows key pieces of the puzzle are still missing, especially in the form of strikers.

He said: “We know we need two and we’re searching everywhere to find the right ones.

“When it’s right to get them we’ll bring them in, but they’ve also got to be right financially and fit into the culture we have here.

“We’ve met one or two and some fall short of what I expected of them.

“Sometimes a culture really does drive a club forward and I think we’re starting to build one.”

And there is one key attribute Robinson is looking for in the new recruits.

“The big thing now is to find that bit of pace in the team,” he said.

“With Gavin (Whyte), Marcus Browne and Jerome (Sinclair) we had pure pace last year and that’s a big part of the way we want to play.

“That’s the last few pieces of the jigsaw.”
