OXFORD United’s memorable September has led to nominations in both the Sky Bet League One manager and player of the month awards.

Head coach Karl Robinson and midfielder James Henry have been short-listed for the prizes.

Robinson guided his side to ten points from five games, which sent the U’s up eight places from the fringes of the relegation zone to the top ten.

It included a club-record away Football League win, 6-0 at Lincoln, plus 3-0 home victories over Tranmere Rovers and Gillingham.

There were also four clean sheets in the league.

Robinson, whose side’s Carabao Cup win over West Ham is not considered for the league award, is up against Gareth Ainsworth (Wycombe Wanderers), Joey Barton (Fleetwood Town) and Graham Coughlan (Bristol Rovers).

Henry was instrumental in United’s excellent run, bagging braces against Tranmere and Gillingham, plus a teriffic volley at Lincoln.

He has been recognised alongside Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, Peterborough United front man Mo Eisa and Ipswich Town wing back Kane Vincent-Young.

The winners will be announced on Friday.
