OXFORD United's win over Doncaster Rovers surpassed their feats against Lincoln City last month, according to Karl Robinson.

James Henry scored either side of Cameron Brannagan's effort to secure a 3-0 win over last season's play-off semi-finalists.

Only goal difference separated the sides before kick-off, but United finished the day just one point outside the play-off places in Sky Bet League One.

And while Robinson still felt there were elements of the game to work on, the strength of the opposition meant in his eyes it surpassed the 6-0 success at Lincoln as United's best league win of the season.

He said: "One hundred per cent, because I see Doncaster as one of the best teams in the league.

"I watched them play Portsmouth (last week) and they were outstanding."

He added: "The result was emphatic when you look at the quality of the opposition.

"We’ve had some great results, but against a team like that it was a really big statement.

"But I still thought we were poor in the second half. I thought we were off it.

"It’s not so much the goals we could have scored, it’s more the opportunities we gave to the opposition through our own stupidity.

"Maybe I’m being harsh, but we lost our shape a bit and they found gaps.

"But what an unbelievable victory and there’s a lot more to come."

Robinson's post-match media duties were interrupted when he broke off to get into an argument with Rovers' substitutes, who were warming down.

It appeared to centre around where the players did their running, with the groundstaff asking them to do it on the side nearest the North Stand, away from the area of the pitch which deteriorates in the winter.

A heated exchange followed between Robinson and several opposition players, before it all died down.

He said: "My players fight for each other and give everything they’ve possibly got.

"I’m sorry, but these people mean so much to me.

"They work their socks off and make the best possible pitch for us to play on."

He added: "When we win like this, the groundsman, the stewards, the women in the ticket office, everyone has a right to be mentioned and I don’t like it when people disrespect staff."
