EDDIE Pepperell failed to find his best form in the Italian Open, finishing in a share of 48th place.
The Abingdon golfer ended with a one-under total of 283 in Rome.
Going into the weekend on level par, Pepperell recorded four birdies and four bogeys on Saturday as he failed to improve his score.
Today, the Frilford Heath member opened with a birdie, but a dropped shot at the sixth hindered his progress.
A birdie at the tenth was followed by a bogey at the 11th.
But Pepperell ensured he finished on a high by picking up a shot at the par-five 17th for an under-par total.
