OXFORD United are planning to run the rule over a couple of trialists today.

Their under 23s are due to host AFC Wimbledon in a friendly at the training ground, which is open to the public (1pm).

And for U’s boss Karl Robinson it is a chance to give those on the fringes useful minutes, plus look at a couple of options as he continues to search for free agents in midfield.

“There will be one or two on trial,” he said.

“It will also give us a good opportunity to play some of these players who haven’t had enough minutes.

“We’ve seen with the likes of Mark Sykes they will be called upon at some stage and they’ve got to keep playing and working hard.”

Rob Hall, Dan Agyei, Shandon Baptiste and Sam Long are all expected to feature.

There were concerns over the wet weather, but the pitch is playable and the game goes ahead.
