OXFORDSHIRE and London could not be separated as they finished level in their BDO Inter-Counties Championship clash.

They ended up at 19-19, to stay among the pace-setters in the fledgling Division 1 table.

The visitors were on the back foot early on, with only the returning Denise Pape and Karen Williams winning for the Ladies’ B team.

But Oxfordshire held a lead overnight, thanks to an 8-4 success for the Men’s B side.

Andrew Quinn and Darren Hammond won the opening two matches.

After London hit back to level, the away side reeled off five victories in a row.

Andrew Tompkins, Andy Jones, debutant Dan Anstiss, Simon Tricker and Terry Wood all struck, before Michael Kearns took the last point of the day.

The Ladies’ A clash was evenly split.

Kim Ledbury, Allyson Thompson and Deta Hedman all triumphed in a 3-3 draw which kept the away side narrowly ahead overall.

Sean Holley got the Men’s A team off to a strong start, but London took the next three to level the scores.

Simon Key and Glenn West responded, while Ade Larner whitewashed England international Daniel Day.

Lennon Cradock’s win took them to within one point of overall victory, but London took the final three matches to share the spoils.

Oxfordshire, in third, are next in action at home to struggling Cheshire on November 2/3 at Bicester Ex-Services Club.

  • The ODDA Winter League will start on Tuesday, November 5.

Fixture lists are to be collected on Monday, October 28 from Cowley Workers Social Club between 7.30-9pm.
