SIMON Anderson has left his role as Oxford City Stars head coach.

The National League 1 South outfit are looking for a replacement after Anderson today departed with immediate effect.

The club are on a run of five defeats in a row following their 5-2 loss to Slough Jets on Saturday.

Stars director Greig Box Turnbull said: “We’d like to put on record our thanks to Simon for his contribution to the Stars.

“We are now welcoming applications for the head coach role.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for a progressive coach to join a great community club and take us forward.”

It brings to an end Anderson's second spell at the club he returned to last summer.

Jo Mundy, Oxford City Stars director, added: “We set out a five-year plan in the summer and that has not changed – we’re seeking a head coach who can develop the club and young players.

“We will conduct a recruitment process to seek the best possible appointment.”
