KARL Robinson wants the pitch at the Kassam Stadium to play as quickly as possible tonight.

The surface stood up surprisingly well to Storm Dennis on Saturday.

Although there has been little time to repair the damage from the 1-0 defeat to Sunderland, it is not concerning the U’s head coach.

Robinson said: “I thought it played really well.

“There will be less grass obviously because of the amount it (the game) took out of it, but it will be one our players will enjoy playing on.

“It will be very quick and we like that.

“We will wet the pitch quite a lot before the game again, our style needs that.

"We can’t play on a slow pitch, as we found at Gillingham.”

Robinson has revealed an unnamed player would miss the game through injury, while Alex Gorrin is still banned.

Wimbledon have winger Julien Lamy available after he was ineligible to face parent club Rotherham United in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.
