OXFORD United boss Karl Robinson is hoping some tentative plans for the future emerge from today's EFL Board meeting.

They are holding a conference call to discuss how to tackle the coronavirus crisis, having suspended action until at least April 3 last Friday.

The EFL put out a statement earlier this week where chairman Rick Parry called for "cool heads and calm reflection".

While it is too early to give definitive solutions, Robinson is keen for some clarity.

He said: "I think what should come out is different proposals at different times.

"If we play by this date, this will be the scenario. Can we move the play-offs back?

"If we can get back and play behind closed doors we’ll do this, almost like a ten-step understanding of where we are."

A range of potential outcomes have been put forward in the past few days.

Yesterday's meeting at UEFA led to a variety of organisations signing a joint resolution committing to completing all domestic and European club competitions by June 30, "should the situation improve and resuming playing be appropriate and prudent enough".

Robinson said: "One thing I certainly don’t want is for this season to become void.

"I equally don’t think it’s fair for people to get promoted but not relegated.

"Are we better finishing this season behind closed doors?"
