The Greyhound Derby semi-finals are the highlight at Nottingham on Saturday, but all 11 other excellent races on the card which promise to be just as exciting as the main course.

Our sensational run of form continues with 66 of our last 80 selections winning.

In our last column, we fired in five winners from eight winning tips at odds of 4/5, 5/4, 7/4, 2/1 and 11/4.

We’re hungry for more success this time around and are looking to be quick out of the traps with a number of fancies at the meeting. We’ve also picked out our two best bets of the evening which are our most confident selections, these are called the NAP and Next Best.

Saturday’s undercard features some fabulous racing which includes the opening heats of the Racing Post Greyhound TV Puppy Trophy (RPGTV), the RPGTV Stayers Trophy and the semi-finals of the RPGTV Derby Plate.

6:26: Nottingham: Tenpin (Trap Three)

The opening heats of the Racing Post Greyhound TV Heats features one of the best dogs around. Tenpin won the Young Guns final at Central Park recently and warmed up for this assignment with an electric nine and three-quarter length win in a trial at the track in a devastating time. He is a confident selection and can get the better of Cold As Ice who has also posted some smart trial times of late.

6:41: Nottingham: Magical Felix (Trap Five)

A trappy race to call. Magical Felix posted a good time in a trial on his first outing at the track recently and gets the votes based on that effort.

6:59: Nottingham: Ice Of Diamonds (Trap Five)

A classy dog who posted an excellent time when second in a trial at the track recently. A reproduction of that effort would make him the dog to beat here.

7:16: Nottingham: Amka Rofe (Trap Three)

Made it to the quarter-finals of the Greyhound Derby which was a fabulous achievement. He has bags of experience at the track now which is sure to stand him in good stead and he looks to have leading claims in this event

7:34: Nottingham: Boca Junior (Trap Two)

Kevin Hutton’s dog shaped nicely when scoring by five lengths in a trial at the track in recently, posting a smart time in the process too. That performance stands out amongst this field and he is the one to beat.

7:51: Nottingham: Acomb Winston (Trap Four)

A tricky event in which Acomb Winston gets narrow preference. He won nicely at Newcastle last time out showing good speed to score decisively. He has never run at the track before and whilst that is a slight concern, he earns the verdict in this.

8:06: Nottingham: Doolin Duke (Trap Four)

The opening heats of the Derby Plate. Pat Buckley’s dog met all sorts of trouble in last week’s opening heats and did brilliantly to finish second. He needs to break quicker on this occasion, but that was a good performance given the interference he encountered and he can repay the faith of punters here.

8:21: Nottingham: Waikiki Lad (Trap Three)

Did the business in fine style last week when winning by eight and a half-lengths. A reproduction of that effort will make him very tough to beat.

8:36: Nottingham: Southwood Jet (Trap One)

The opening semi-final of the Greyhound Derby. Southwood Jet has got a brilliant draw in trap one and is still unbeaten in the competition. He overcame trap fie to score in fine style last week and back in the red jacket, he looks like the dog they all have to beat. Knocknaboul Syd is clearly the main danger having also come through the competition unbeaten so far, but the draw looks to have played into the hands of Southwood Jet and he is the selection for the opening semi-final.

8:52: Nottingham: Deerjet Sydney (Trap Four)

The second Greyhound Derby semi-final. Deerjet Sydney looks to be well-drawn in a trap four having already won from this box in the competition. He darts for the rails and if getting away quickly, he can get the better of Wolfe and take this contest for Pat Buckley, one of Ireland’s greatest trainers.

9:11: Nottingham: Salacres Pippy (Trap Two)

The opening heats of the RPGTV Stayers Trophy. A difficult race to call with most of the field having never run at the track. With that in mind, Salacres Pippy gets the vote. She shaped well in a trial last time out and reached the semi-finals of the St Leger at Crayford and therefore earns our vote.

9:26: Nottingham: Roxholme Kristof (Trap Five)

A cracking event in which Roxholme Kristof gets narrow preference. He won the Three Steps To Victory competition at Sheffield last month and can get the better of recent St Leger consolation trophy winner Smallmead and Cesarewitch finalist Zascandil in what promises to be a brilliant event.

9:41: Nottingham: Blue Tick George (Trap One)

An interesting event in which Blue Tick George gets the vote. He made the quarter-finals of the Greyhound Derby and whilst he has to prove his stamina over this trip, he looks well-drawn and is the selection in the finale.
