OXFORD United's players will join a select group if they beat Swindon Town tomorrow.

The U's have triumphed on just three of their 28 visits to The County Ground, including their most recent trip in February 2017.

Success at the home of their arch-rivals has been rare for United - here are the teams Karl Robinson's side will try to emulate.

Hugh Curran celebrates sealing victory for Oxford United at The County Ground in 1973

United's first clash with Swindon had come less than eight years earlier in August 1965, but they had already endured plenty of pain in Wiltshire.

Their first six visits had yielded three draws and three defeats, but when the U's arrived in February 1973 they were flying high in Division Two and their opponents were struggling near the bottom of the table.

Dave Roberts, Nigel Cassidy and Hugh Curran ensured United claimed a historic win, with Mick McGovern's strike proving only a consolation.

It would be almost four decades before their next triumph at The County Ground, though.

United: Burton, Lucas, Shuker, Roberts, Clarke, Evanson, Sloan, Fleming, Cassidy, Curran, Aylott.

It had been almost nine years since the rivals' last meeting, so this early-season League Two clash hardly needed any extra fuel poured on the fire.

Swindon boss Paolo di Canio ignored that in the build-up, claiming United talisman James Constable - who grew up in Wiltshire - was a Swindon fan.

That backfired spectacularly, with the U's No 9 scoring either side of Matt Ritchie's strike to secure a famous victory.

It ended United's 17-game winless run at Swindon and they claimed a double when they triumphed 2-0 at the Kassam Stadium the following March.

United: Clarke, Whing, Duberry, Wright, Davis, Heslop (Hall 49), McLaren, Leven, Potter (Batt 74), Constable, Guy (Smalley 55).

United's last visit to The County Ground was the only time they have come from behind to win at Swindon.

Fankaty Dabo's first-half effort put the hosts ahead and the U's could not hit back until Liam Sercombe's tap-in 20 minutes from time.

The turnaround was complete 180 seconds later, as Rob Hall's dipping shot from long range beat goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

The Swindon stopper was sent off for the second time that season against United in stoppage-time, with the Wiltshire side relegated at the end of the campaign.

United: Eastwood, Edwards, Dunkley, Nelson, Johnson, Sercombe, Lundstram, Ledson, Maguire, Hall (McAleny 90), Martinez (Hemmings 80).
