FOR decades, the Oxford Mail has been the best source of Oxford United news, results, reaction and more.

This newspaper chronicled the club's rise from non-league to the top of the Football League (and back again, unfortunately). We have reported on everything from Wembley wins to stadium sagas, promotion pushes to managerial moves.

I know how much of a privilege it is to cover the U’s for a living and am determined to continue, and hopefully enhance, the Mail’s coverage of the club at an exciting time on and off the pitch. Since taking this job, I have added audio features, additional in-depth analysis and opinion pieces to our United offering and looked to maximise column inches for the women’s team.

Regular readers will have noticed a blue ‘premium’ sticker appear on certain stories over the last few months. Click on one of these articles and it invites you to subscribe - if you have done this already then thank you, it really is appreciated.

Premium content already opens up opinion pieces, match verdicts, in-depth analysis, audio features and more, while player ratings will also be available to subscribers only from next week.

It must be stressed that many stories will remain free-to-read, including match previews, live blogs and reports, plus all the reaction from Karl Robinson and United players. I would never dream of putting U’s news behind a paywall, so everyone will still be able to access essential info on all things yellow and blue. But premium content offers an extra level of coverage.

We are currently offering subscriptions at the introductory price of just £2 for two months. After that it is about £1 per week, less than 15p a day.

With a digital subscription, you have the added benefit of 80 per cent less advertising on your devices. Believe me, I know how frustrating it is to battle the ads when you are trying to read a story!

You also get full unlimited access to all articles across our website, as well as hundreds of free online puzzles, crosswords and brainteasers.

Every subscription is not only giving you full access to United, but also supporting local journalism and local jobs.

Just CLICK HERE, or follow the ‘subscribe’ link in the top left-hand corner of every page of the site. Thank you.
