OXFORD City’s Buildbase FA Trophy opponents have already caught the eye for their cup exploits this season.

David Oldfield’s side host Vanarama National League South counterparts St Albans City in the second round at Court Place Farm tomorrow (3pm).

The visitors have not won since beating Sky Bet League Two outfit Forest Green Rovers in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup three weeks ago.

But midfielder Canice Carroll is preparing for a tough afternoon as City aim to follow last season’s run to the quarter-finals.

He said: “We saw they beat Forest Green on TV and played unbelievably.

“It shows how good they are and how good this league is.

“This is the first time I’ve played in this league and the standard and how quick it is was quite a shock to me.”

Elsewhere, Banbury United host Royston Town in Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.

The Puritans are third and still unbeaten, with Royston seventh.

Wantage Town and Kidlington face the two other sides in the bottom four of Division 1 Central.

The Alfredians, in 19th, welcome 17th-placed Hertford Town and Ben Sadler’s men, who are 18th, visit Colney Heath.
