JASON Ou saw off the top two seeds in dramatic fashion to claim boys doubles gold at the English Under 17 National Championships.

The Oxford teenager partnered Surrey’s Jia Bin Lee to a stunning victory, before taking mixed doubles bronze with Lila Dundas, also of Surrey.

In the boys doubles, the two 15-year-olds won the third end 21-18 to beat the top seeds and progress to the final.

There, they faced second seeds Robin Harper, of Warwickshire, and Norfolk’s Harry Wakefield.

Ou and his partner lost the first end 15-21, but fought back with wins of 21-16 and 21-17 to secure the gold medal.

Not to be outdone by his brother, Gerry Ou partnered Junchen Lin of Warwickshire to boys doubles bronze at the Kent Under 11 tournament.

More Oxfordshire players returned with a clutch of medals from events around the country.

Rachel Wang teamed up with Middlesex’s Maya Bogal to claim girls doubles silver at the Hampshire Under 17 event.
