Travellers left a car park at Oxford United's Kassam Stadium on Saturday morning in time for this weekend's FA Cup fixture.

The club said the East Stand car park would be closed for the match against Maidenhead United due to a traveller encampment.

It said the decision was made due to health and safety concerns as the encampment covered a large section of the car park.

However, the club confirmed before the 3pm kick-off that the travellers left this morning and although some of the car park would remain closed for cleaning through the afternoon, the entrances would be open as usual.

It said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate the co-operation of supporters in this instance."

OUFC had encouraged supporters to consider lift sharing and public transport while disabled supporters who usually park in the car park behind the East Stand were asked to enter via the VIP entrance on Grenoble Road.
