JAMES Beadle says Oxford United’s bad day at the office ran throughout the team as the U’s suffered a 3-0 loss at Peterborough United.
While his teammates struggled against the Posh, and despite the heavy scoreline, Beadle was able to emerge from the game with a lot of credit, thanks to a handful of important saves.
The Brighton & Hove Albion loanee made a couple of crucial stops in each half, to prevent the defeat being by more goals.

Speaking after the game, he said: “It’s a big disappointment for all of us individually and as a team.
“It was a massive off day for us, we didn’t play our football well enough, we didn’t press well enough, and we didn’t block well enough.
“We were off everything. We didn’t create enough chances and we conceded too many shots.
“We all know we’re a good team and we just need to get back on it. We’re all disappointed, but we’ve still got a massive season ahead.
“They were very good, and I think Bolton were up there as well. The way we performed probably made them look better, but they’re a very good team and in form.
“It’s a massive learning process for me, I’m still young and trying to improve, and I go through the game with Pricey [Lewis Price, goalkeeping coach] to see what I can do better, and then hopefully keep improving.”
Was a little bit surprised that Josh Murphy didn’t start yesterday. Also interesting that Des Buckingham pretty much confirmed Murphy will be in the starting XI on Tuesday night against Reading #oufc https://t.co/ZBCMXt7MQS

United head coach Des Buckingham added: “Beads plays age group for England, and there’s a reason for that.
“We’re very fortunate to have him on loan and we know how good a goalkeeper he is now, and hopefully what a good goalkeeper he’ll go on to become in the future.
“We’re giving him that platform to play and he’s showing people what he’s capable of doing.”
