Oxford United Women defender Shelly Provan will miss the rest of the season after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The injury occurred during United's 3-1 win against London Bees on March 24.
The club said: "Everyone at the club wishes Shelly all the best with her recovery and are all right behind her as she prepares for her surgery and following rehabilitation."
Manager Sam Rose added: "Shelly is a massive part of what we are doing here and her injury is a big blow for everyone.
"However, we are confident that she will come back stronger and we will do everything we can to support her recovery.
"Whilst we would of course prefer to have Shelly on the pitch, during her recovery she will still play a big part in our team.”
