THE search for a first league win of the season goes on for Oxford City after the Hoops were beaten 3-1 at home by Peterborough Sports.
City were 2-0 down after 14 minutes, with Will Van Lier afforded too much space inside the penalty box after just four minutes, before Matt Tootle’s deflected 20-yard strike found the net.
The Hoops searched for a way back into the game, as Cole Kpekawa thumped a header wide from a corner.

Eight minutes into the second period, Cardo Siddik was hauled down inside the penalty area, and half-time substitute Josh Parker slotted home from the spot.
However, the visitors restored their two-goal advantage just after the hour mark, when Dion Sembie-Ferris was set free down the right channel, and he shot across Rylee Mitchell into the far post.
The Hoops remain bottom of Vanarama National League North, with three points from seven games, and welcome Needham Market on Saturday.
