Bobby Pearson bagged a hat-trick as Drayton reached the third round of the Charity Shield with a 3-1 extra-time victory against eight-man Blewbury.

After a goalless first half, in which Blewbury’s Tom Ingram hit a post, Lawrence Hoey fired the visitors ahead from 25 yards.

Pearson levelled on 83 minutes before Blewbury were reduced to ten men when captain Ross Tyler was sent off for a second booking.

Four minutes into the extra period, Pearson headed in a right wing cross to put Drayton ahead.

Shortly afterwards, Blewbury keeper Simon Matthews saved James Brown’s penalty.

However, Pearson’s second sealed it for Drayton before Blewbury’s misery was complete when Jack Hogan and Simon Barlow were sent off for dissent.

Adam Clay scored the winner as underdogs Stanford in the Vale beat higher league side Grove Rangers 1-0.

Holders Faringdon Town reached the quarter-finals with a 2-1 win against AFC Wallingford, thanks to goals from Garry Sutton and Danny Courtney.

Harwell Village squeezed through 1-0 against Long Wittenham Athletic, thanks to a goal from John Willis.

Paul Hannigan smashed a four-timer as Crowmarsh Gifford hammered East Hendred 8-0.

Liam Currell bagged a brace, with Dan Keeler and Phil Hedges also on target.

Harwell International Res set up an AG Kingham Cup meeting with Drayton Res with a 7-0 demolition of Long Wittenham Res.

Mark Porter (2), Jon Greenough, Chris Key, Adam Blaszko and Joe Lydon did the damage for Harwell.

In the league, Chris Roche hit the winner as Ardington & Lockinge climbed away from the Division 1 relegation zone with a 1-0 win at Harwell International whose winless run stretched to eight games.

In Division 2, Robbie Harrington bagged a treble as Faringdon Town Res dented Coleshill United’s promotion hopes with a 3-2 win.

Ian Fawkes and Dan Sealey netted for Coleshill.

Jamie Dutton became the second player to score a four-timer for Saxton Rovers Res in successive weeks as they crushed Sutton Courtenay 7-0 to move up to second.

Steve Pitson (2) and Jamie Hawthorne got their others, while Vinny Cooper and Danny Cox were on target for Sutton.

In Division 3, leaders Botley United won 4-1 at Ardington & Lockinge Res, with two goals apiece from Chris Potter and Darren Witchell. Sam Powell replied for Ardington.

Tom Rawle hit two late goals as Shrivenham A won 2-0 at Harwell Village Res.

Grove Rangers Res climbed off the bottom, following a 5-5 home draw with Coleshill United Res.

Richard Bailey hit a hat-trick for Grove, with other goals from Jon Wells and Dean Worthington. Shane Blake (2), Christian Ayres (2) and Martin Suter replied.

In Division 4, previous leaders Faringdon Town A lost 4-0 at East Hendred Res.

Shaun Russ (2), Ashley Simmons and Tom Atkins netted for Hendred.

Hanney United moved up to third with a 2-1 home win against Steventon Res, with goals from Paul Freeman and Danny Sayer, moves them into third place.

Didcot Casuals Res wrecked Benson AFC Res’ perfect record with a 3-1 win, with goals from Gareth Cole (2) and Tim Young.

Leighton Jackson and Jon Cummings bagged a brace apiece as Marcham Res thrashed Hagbourne United 7-1.

Nick Willis, Luke Westall and Marcus Charman were their other marksmen.
