Alex Murphy, of Didcot Barramundi SC, broke the county record for 100m breaststroke while competing for Oxon & North Bucks in the British Gas National Team Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Swimming in the 14/15yrs age group, Murphy recorded a time of 1min 6.27 secs to break the previously long- held record, dating back to 1998.
Murphy (pictured) also broke the South East Region under 16 100m short-course record (previously 1.07.05).
Meanwhile, a group Barra-mundi swimmers attended a weekend of training at Cov-entry with the All Stars team.
The highlight was a training session with British international Melanie Mar-shall.
The two-day programme also included land training, mind games and nutritional advice from some of Britain’s leading experts.
Barramundi members involved included Olly Ripley, Yassmine Girgis, Daniella Springett, Poppy Concannon, Hollie Bristow, David Murphy and Ricky Martin.
