Paceman Ed Oakley took 9-39 and the catch that secured the other wicket as Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts saw off Sandford St Martin by 34 runs in Division 2.

Oakley's remarkable spell lasted 15.2 overs as Nondies' victory charge was only held up by a sixth-wicket stand of 70 between Chris Thompson (49) and Greg Pearson (40).

Earlier Brendon Ham had taken 5-39 for Sandford to leave Jeremy Liddy unbeaten on 57 in the visitors' 177 all out.

Nick Meadows cracked six boundaries in a single over delivered by Paul Rose on his way to 115 for Challow & Childrey against Hanborough.

Jimmy Phillips also batted well for his 62 as Challow romped to 233-4 and a six-wicket win in the 32nd over.

Earlier Greg Matthews (68), Ed Willmott (46) and Matthew Busby (45) had taken the visitors to 232-8, while spinner Joe Harris returned 5-54 from 14 overs.

Abingdon Vale gained revenge for their opening-day defeat at Tiddington, but made hard work of chasing the visitors' 127 all out for victory.

Things started well for Vale when skipper Mike Cook won the toss then took 5-31 as only Will Cooper (40) and Jon Talbot (30) got going.

Chris Roderick (31) gave the hosts a start, but his was one of five early wickets to fall before Will Barker (42no) and Ed Tilley (35no) saw them home without further loss.

Banbury 2nd's last pair held out for a draw in their side's home clash with local rivals Great & Little Tew.

After they were asked to bat, Tew had posted 226-7 thanks to useful knocks by Ed Gross (69), Lloyd Brock (41) and Rob Garrett (40).

Youngster Lloyd Sabin (48) and keeper Ed Phillips (36) kept Banbury in the hunt, but once they had gone it was a battle for survival which ended with the home side on 170-9.

Long Marston's 128-mile round trip to leaders Bourton Vale must have felt like a wasted journey as they slumped to a five-wicket defeat.

Paul Lazenbury took 6-45 and Ryan Hill 4-34 as Marston were rolled over for 126, Mick Lyons top-scoring with 42.

Jaimie Noble (35) and Charlie Garratt (30) then helped Bourton reach 129-5, despite a defiant spell of 3-31 from Mark Green.
