Cumnor missed a golden chance to overtake Dinton at the top of the Division 1 table despite beating their nearest rivals for the title.

Dinton were dismissed for a meagre 95, with the home side's inform quickie Carl Thompson claiming 5-35.

Cumnor knew that they would go top if they won for the loss of three wickets or fewer, and were within ten runs of achieving just that.

But another three wickets fell to off spinner Richard Scott (4-27) and although the hosts reached 99-6 they were left to rue their carelessness.

Horspath, who still have the top two to play, maintained a chance of taking the title by crushing Shipton-under-Wychwood, who remain in danger of the dreaded drop.

Adam Krol (70), Ned Murray (40) and Mohson Rana (39no) batted well in Horspath's 210-6, which was more than enough as Shipton collapsed to 64 all out against Ben Cook (3-9) and Will Eason (3-28).

Oxford Downs' sorry season cannot end soon enough, with their latest defeat coming by nine wickets at Buckingham Town.

Downs, who started the season as title contenders, could yet be embroiled in a relegation dogfight after being bundled out for 127.

Only Tim Hardy (66) provided much resistance against Rob Laird (4-31).

Openers Graham Judd (46) and Leigh Tomlinson (52no) helped Town reach 128-1.

Ian Bryan took 8-44 for Bicester & North Oxford to dismiss Bletchley Town for only 148, but he was badly let down by his teammates who crashed to 136 all out.

Town were put into bat and only Ed Packard's 48 gave their score a modicum of respectability.

Darryl Woods (40) held together Bicester's reply, but Ghufran Mohammed (3-21) and James Sprittles (3-35) bowled their side to victory.

Bicester have to play the top three sides in their final four fixtures as they bid to stay up.

Banbury Twenty's survival chances suffered a serious blow when they lost by 84 runs to fellow strugglers Oxford 2nd.

Oxford made 228-4 after being inserted on a damp pitch, opener Wasim Mehmood hitting a patient 72 and John Barrett finishing it off with 65 not out off 39 balls, which included five fours and three sixes.

Twenty were always behind the rate but looked like securing a draw until Francois Vainker (5-37) claimed the final wicket in the 53rd over.
