ZAC McEachran could hand Oxford City a welcome boost ahead of their final three games of the season.

The influential midfielder has not played since January with a troublesome knee and was expected to miss the remainder of the campaign.

But McEachran may feature in one of City’s Vanarama National League South games over Easter, starting at home to Slough Town tomorrow.

“It’s been a massive loss not having Zac with us,” said boss Mark Jones.

“His injury has been a bit of a mystery, but he’s been responding well to treatment and hopefully we can get him into the side over the weekend.

“It’s been a really frustrating time not only for us, but also for Zac.

“He loves his football and has been very disappointed to be missing out so much. We will take things steady with him, but it’s a great boost to see him responding so well.”

City are hoping to continue their good form against play-off chasing Slough.

And boss Jones has been pleased with the way his side have continued to impress despite having little to play for.

“We’re in pretty good form at the moment,” he said.

“We’ve won four out of our last five league games, and I’ve been delighted with the attitude of the players.

“Sometimes, players get to this stage of the season and have one eye on the summer.

“But we made it pretty clear to them that we expected them to stay professional, and credit to them, they’ve been magnificent.”
