FARINGDON kept their OCA League Division 1 title hopes alive with a nine-wicket win against leaders Charlbury.

Charlbury crashed to 72 all out against Mike Hume (4-24) and Mark Sizzey (3-14), before Rob Brown (45no) led Faringdon to 73-1.

East & West Hendred returned to winning ways with a 68-run victory at Great Horwood.

Ian Clewley hit 55 not out and Ivan Mulford 41 in Hendred’s 192-7.

Rueben Barksfield then claimed 5-51 to send Horwood tumbling to 124 all out.

Wantage could field only nine players against Witney Swifts, who won by by 147 runs in Division 2.

Kieran Foggett hit 93 not out in Swifts’ 253-7.

Alfie Saunders then claimed 5-50 as Wantage slumped to 106.

Clifton Hampden ran out five-wicket winners at Chadlington.

Laurence Harvey (4-27) and Ian Burton (3-17) helped to restrict Chadlington to 148-9, George Chipchase top-scoring with 62 not out.

Matthew Thacker (48) and Steve Shepherd (38no) then led Clifton to 149-5.

Wootton & Boars Hill were shot out for 67 at home to Chipping Norton, for whom Dave Brassett took 5-20.

Billy Webb then claimed 4-39 for Wootton, but Chippy reached 71-5.

Uffington beat Deddington by four wickets in Division 4, Tom Fillery (45) and James Standen (43no) seeing them home at 153-6.

Stuart Armstrong’s fine all-round display helped Marcham to a six-wicket win against visitors Sunningwell.

Armstrong took 6-35 as Sunningwell were dismissed for 142, Tom Harris hitting 67.

Armstrong then finished unbeaten on 63 as Marcham eased home at 143-4.

In Division 5, Radley romped to a nine-wicket win at home to Kennington as Awais Rana returned brilliant figures of 7-20.

Kennington were skittled out for 90, and then Ashley Pike scored 59 not out in Radley’s 92-1.

Leaders Shrivenham edged out hosts Oxenford 2nd by nine runs in Division 6.

Only Adam Taylor (31) got going in Shrivenham’s 96 all out, before Naveed Akram (5-21) and Richard Deacon (3-14) then combined to dismiss Oxenford for 87.

Wootton & Boars Hill 2nd edged past Faringdon 2nd by three wickets after

Mick Wiskin took 5-14 to bowl the hosts out for 102.

Dorchester 2nd thrashed previous leaders Chalgrove by ten wickets to go top of the table in Division 8 South.

Restricting Chalgrove to 136-7, Dorchester raced to 137-0 as Chris Rudling hit 92 not out and Mike Ottrey 35 not out.

Deepak Patel took 6-16 for Marcham 2nd, who lost by 60 runs at Sunningwell 2nd.
