MOST of Oxford United’s joy over Christmas in recent years has come on the road.
Since returning to the Football League in 2010, have collected 25 points from 12 away fixtures over the festive period.
But from 11 games at the Kassam Stadium, the U’s have collected only 11 points.
The trend continued 12 months ago, when Michael Appleton’s side lost to Northampton Town and drew with Walsall at home, before winning at Gillingham.
It is a record Pep Clotet will be looking to improve upon tomorrow, when Wigan Athletic visit, and on New Year’s Day against Milton Keynes Dons.
United’s best Christmas since 2010 came five years ago, when Exeter City, AFC Wimbledon and Cheltenham Town were all beaten.
