THAME United ran riot on Saturday, thumping sorry Wantage Town 9-0 in Division 1 Central of the BetVictor Southern League.

Greg Hackett and Dan West both scored hat-tricks in a one-side affair.

The result means Wantage have conceded 23 goals without scoring in their last three matches.

Marcus Mealing opened the scoring after 14 minutes, before West doubled the lead and Hackett made it 3-0 all inside the opening 20 minutes.

Ryan Blake netted on his debut to make it 4-0 on 29 minutes.

Wantage managed to get through to the break without conceding, but fell five behind on 57 minutes when West scored his second of the game.

Hackett made it 6-0 four minutes later, before then completing his hat-trick.

Blake notched his second of the afternoon, before West completed an emphatic display with his third goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Wantage recorded their first shot on target in the 84th minute on an afternoon to forget.

Didcot Town also had nothing to cheer as they went down 4-0 at high-flying Berkhamsted.

Lewis Toomey hit a hat-trick for the hosts, who led 3-0 at half-time. Lee Stobbs scored the other.
