HENRY Landers’s stunning five-goal performance fired North Leigh to a thrilling 5-4 victory at Bedford Town in BetVictor Southern League Division 1 Central.

The striker struck a nine-minute hat-trick to put the Millers 3-1 up in the first half, before he came to his side’s rescue with two more goals late on.

Daniel Walker gave the hosts the lead after just four minutes with a classy solo goal, but Landers quickly restored parity with a header.

He added a second following good work from Callum McNish, before completing his hat-trick with just 18 minutes on the clock.

Walker pulled a goal back for Bedford three minutes after the break, before Connor Tomlinson levelled the scores on the hour.

The home side looked to be on their way to a memorable comeback when Connor Calcutt put them ahead in the 74th minute, but Landers took centre stage.

He levelled the scores moments later, before slamming home the winning penalty with six minutes left.

Elsewhere, Lynton Goss scored his 100th Thame United goal to secure a 2-2 draw at home to Welwyn Garden City.

George Ironton put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute, before Eusebio Da Silva doubled the lead shortly after the half-hour mark.

Ryan Blake halved the deficit eight minutes after the break, but Mark West’s side looked destined for defeat.

They had to wait until the 89th minute for an equaliser, when Goss popped up to snatch a point.

Lewis Toomey hit a hat-trick as Berkhamsted thrashed Wantage Town 6-0.

The striker put the home side 2-0 up inside 17 minutes, before scoring a third midway through the second half.

Ryan Kinnane, Jonathan Lacey and an own goal completed the scoring.

Didcot Town are just one point above third-bottom St Neots Town after losing 1-0 to the strugglers, while Tobias London scored in Kidlington’s 2-1 defeat at Biggleswade.
