BRIAN Kirk has become Milton United’s new head of football.

The former Abingdon Town chairman takes on the role at the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East side with immediate effect.

Secretary Tim Davies said: “With Brian’s experience it’s a massive coup to bring him in.

“It’ll help take us to the next level.”

Kirk is expected to assemble his support team in the coming days.

Last month, he resigned from Abingdon, who he helped save from the brink of collapse after arriving in 2018.

Milton are hoping to build a new clubhouse within the next year after receiving grant money and £750,000 in section 106 funding from developer Redrow, which is building 800 houses near their ground.
