BANBURY’S youngsters fell just short of winning a dream day out at Twickenham.
The under 11 boys competed in the Land Rover Premiership Cup, hosted by Worcester Warriors at Sixways.
Despite demonstrating plenty of effort and skill, they missed out on a trip to next June’s Gallagher Premiership Rugby Final.
Their prize would have included joining in a parade of the Twickenham pitch at half-time.
Despite being denied a big day out, Banbury player Sonny Goode was thrilled to take part.
He said: “I had a really enjoyable day playing rugby.
“It’s great to play in competitions like this because there’s a lot of teams to face and the more rugby the better.
“We wanted to win and go to Twickenham but it’s great to come and play lots of rugby.
“We got to play against some really good teams and the standard was really high so it was a good day.”
