RUGBY UNION: Chinnor to field two colts teams
CHINNOR will have two under 18 teams next season.
The Thame-based club’s colts side finished fifth in Division 1 of the Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire League in 2018/19.
And they have now applied to field a second XV in Division 2 from September.
The colts are made up of under 17 and 18 players, with trials on June 8 and 13.
Chinnor president John Ashfield hopes the move can benefit the club, whose senior men’s first team play in National League 1 – the third tier of English rugby.
He said: “We are delighted to be fielding two colts teams next season.
“It is the pinnacle of youth rugby and will prepare the players for the adult game.”
